The government has set up a webpage containing guidance around the impact of coronavirus (COVID-19) on pupils who qualify for free school meals.

The bulk of queries we are receiving relate to the provision of vouchers to eligible families. The government confirm they are developing a national approach to providing support through supermarket and shop vouchers and advise they will provide further information shortly. Again, please keep yourselves updated by referring to the above webpage.

These are links to supermarket business websites which allow the school to purchase e-vouchers for free school meals families and then email them on. Schools have to register first and then once the account is activated, order the vouchers. The government have advised they will compensate schools who incur additional costs in providing free school meals or vouchers to pupils affected by coronavirus, and will advise how this works in due course:
