Education Safeguarding Professional

What Safeguarding Training Can Bring To Your Workplace

Safeguarding children and young people is everyone's responsibility. However, school and education staff play a unique role due to their frequent contact with children and families and the relationships that develop over time.

The Education Safeguarding Professional provides advice, information, guidance and challenge to education settings on their safeguarding arrangements and practice. We aim to support education staff with the knowledge and skills to protect every child and young person in Slough from harm and to create an environment where they feel safe to learn and their welfare is promoted.

Schools and settings need to make sure that the way they work with children keeps them safe and does not place them at unacceptable risk of harm.

You can do this through:

  • establishing, implementing and following good safeguarding policies and procedures including safe recruitment
  • ensuring all staff and volunteers are aware of and follow the organisation’s safeguarding policies and procedures
  • ensuring that all staff and volunteers receive child protection training.
