SaLT – There are approximately 1,400 children and young people with Statutory Assessments for Special Education Needs in Slough (Education, Health and Care Plan / Statement of Special Educational Needs). 35% of SEND needs within mainstream schools make reference to speech, language and communication difficulties within their profile of needs. An Invitation to tender (ITT) has been published and it is anticipated that a contract will be awarded to the successful provider(s) with a view to the service commencing in time for the start of the 2018/19 school year. Note that Slough Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) separately commissions SaLT for children aged under 5-years.
