Apprenticeships in Schools

In April 2017, the government changed the way it funds apprenticeships in England.  Large employers are now required to contribute to an apprentice levy and there have been changes to funding for apprentice training for all employers.

Apprenticeships are a great way for schools to improve the skills base of their employees and there are a wide range of occupations, including Teacher Apprenticeships, supporting staff in administration and finance roles.

The maintained Schools in Slough who use the SBC payroll, are part of Slough Borough Council Apprentice Levy and are provided with monthly updates of the funds available to their schools.
