Summary
Children's centres work directly with children and families. The core offer includes:
- Childcare (including full day care) integrated with free early learning for two, three and four year olds, including the extended entitlement - 30 hrs.
- Support and advice to families on a range of topics including child development, housing, debt management, benefits advice and adult and community learning.
- In house services e.g. Family Learning (modelling interactions).
- Information: parenting, family support, health and keeping safe.
Links with other Services
Slough children’s centres work in partnership with many other agencies including external organisations such as Public Health Nursing 4 Slough, SCS Trust, Wexham Park Hospital Trust, Slough Integrated Therapy Team, Domestic abuse Agencies, Job Centre Plus, adult and community learning providers , Voluntary Organisations including Home-Start, P3 and Foodbank , Shelter, and departments within Slough Borough Council.

Provider Responsibilities
Partner agencies delivering services within a Slough children’s centre have a responsibility to ensure they follow the children’s centre safeguarding policy which includes providing evidence of safer recruitment and adhering to the policy whilst on site.
Partners have a commitment to provide data on the impact their service has on their service users.
Partners have a responsibility to be represented at the termly Service Partner Network meeting in the area they deliver their service.
Strategic partners have responsibility to be represented at the Children’s Centre Advisory Board.
Monitoring & Evaluation
Evidence of attendees at activities reaching the expected outcomes of a particular session
Evidence of step up or step down of a case file.
Evidence of a child reaching their expected level of development
