This training session is aimed to raise awareness of the practice of FGM and to inform Early Years practitioners of the facts and issues and how and where to make a referral.
Content:
- What is FGM?
- Challenging the Myths of FGM – Cultural stereotypes;
- What is safeguarding;
- Rights of the child;
- FGM & UK law; and
- Wider Slough multiagency provision and pathway.
Learning Outcomes:
- How to recognise the signs of FGM
- To understand the process of referral; and
- To increase understanding about risk assessment and health implications to the child.
This training will take place online via Zoom.
