The Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering (QCF) is a qualification aimed at caterers and other food handlers. The qualification is intended for learners already working in catering and those who are preparing to work in the industry. It is also appropriate for those providing services to catering premises including Nurseries and Childminders.
Learners gaining this qualification will know that food safety is the responsibility of everyone involved in the storage, preparation, cooking service and handling of food. Its topics are regarded by the Foods Standards Agency as being important to maintaining good practice in the production of safe food which includes:
- How individuals can take personal responsibility for food safety;
- The importance of keeping themselves clean and hygienic;
- The importance of keeping the work areas clean and hygienic; and
- The importance of keeping food safe.

The course runs for a whole day and will start promptly at 9:00 until 17:00. Parking is available at Montem Car Park. When you arrive at reception please enter your registration number into the machine provided, which is situated near the desk. If you do not register your number you may get a parking ticket. Please remember to also bring a photo ID on the day.
