Forest School, outdoor learning and natural creativity for Early Years - taster training sessions

This training is brought to you by Slough Borough Councils Early Years team, for the attention of all Early Years Providers.

Have you ever wondered what Forest School is all about? Do you enjoy being outside and making the most of natural learning opportunities with the children in your setting? Do you want children to have the experience of risky play? Ever thought about enhancing your curriculum with the use of tools such as hammers and hand drills or even including a fire circle or fire pit as part of your outdoor learning environment?

 

If you have answered yes then we have just the 3-part course for you.....

Session 1 - Forest School session. 

Session 2 - Natural outdoor creativity and use of hand tools

Session 3 - Use of fire

 

Dates: Thursday 2nd October, Thursday 9th October, and Thursday 16th October.

Time: 4:00pm - 5:30pm.   Arrival 3:45pm for a prompt start

Cost: FREE

Venue: Cippenham Nursery St. Andrews Way, Slough SL1 5NL

 

Please note all sessions will run consecutive weeks and they are designed to work as a series. The same practitioner will be required to attend all 3 sessions.

Maximum 2 places per setting

All sessions are practical, hands on and taking place outside in the wonderful Forest School and outdoor space at Cippenham Nursery school.

Participants will need to make sure they are wearing the appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear for the weather and being outside for all of the sessions.
