This training has been brought to you by Slough Borough Council's Senior Early Years and Childcare Market Management Officer, Danielle Mercer, and is open to any Slough resident who wants to become a Childminder and has attended an Information session.
A career in home-based care and becoming a Childminder can be very rewarding, whatever your background or age. There will always be demand for good quality home-based care to support early education of young children. A career in early years could be for you if you love being around children and are committed to give them the best possible start in life, and you want to be your own boss.

This training is free and will take place over 7 sessions:
The time for each training session will be 09.30am – 12.00pm
- Session 1- 28th January 2026
- Session 2- 4th February 2026
- Session 3- 11th February 2026
Half term week break
- Session 4- 25th February 2026
- Session 5- 4th March 2026
- Session 6- 11th March 2026
- Session 7- 18th March 2026
Venue: Monksfield Way Children Centre SL2 1QX
You must attend all 7 sessions to complete this training course. Non-attendance will be charged at £50.00.
