Safer Recruitment Training

This event has been brought to you by Slough Borough Council's, Jatinder Matharu, Education Safeguarding Professional, aimed at any education workforce leads, DSL’s, Headteachers, Governors, SLT, administrators who may be involved in recruitment processes.


Safer Recruitment training supports managers to meet several of the statutory duties relating to recruitment, including the suitability of staff, vetting procedures and referrals to the disclosure and barring service.

Delegates attending this CPD will have increased awareness and understanding of offending behaviour which will help to:

  • Identify the key features of staff recruitment that help deter or prevent the appointment of unsuitable people
  • Consider policies and practice that minimise opportunities for abuse or ensure its prompt reporting
  • Help participants begin to review their policies and practice in recruitment with a view to creating a safer culture
  • This training is delivered by accredited trainers from the Safer Recruitment Training Consortium
