Please note both sessions are the same so attendance at only one session is required. Also, Early Language Lead Practitioner (ELLPS) who attended the Autumn term 2018 ITalk Network meeting will already be familiar with materials covered in the course.

This training session will explore the links between rough and tumble play and how this type of physical play supports children's learning and development, particularly in self confidence, social skills and their emotional well being. Reference to national materials and research will be included throughout the session.
The course will:

Look at the importance of being an effective play partner with children

Acknowledge the challenges of establishing rough and tumble play within a setting, providing practitioners with practical advice and tips on how to create a positive rough and tumble play experience for all, including working closely with parents throughout this process.

Include high quality professional development film clips and discussion to enable practitioner's to feel confident about the benefits of providing opportunities for rough and tumble play
Places are limited and therefore will be allocated on a first come basis. There are limited car parking spaces at St Martin’s Place; but there is a free car park at Montem Leisure Centre (car park opposite). Please note there are parking restrictions in force at the Montem Leisure Centre so do allow some extra time to register your vehicle at St. Martins Place reception.
