Real Stories, Real People: LIVE Q&A is a supportive webinar session offering space to listen, reflect and connect with real lived experiences. Hosted during Knife Crime Awareness Week 2026, it brings lived experience and honest conversation together in a safe and supportive environment.
This 1.5‑hour webinar-style session will take place on Thursday 21st May, 6:30 - 8:00pm. The session will be facilitated in a sensitive, respectful and supportive way, with time to listen, reflect and ask questions.
What to expect
- A short introduction outlining the purpose of the session and why it is being held during Knife Crime Awareness Week
- Story-sharing segments with bereaved parents, offering each speaker a meaningful platform to share their story in whichever way feels right for them
- A live, moderated Q&A with our guests, providing a safe and respectful space for parents and carers to engage directly and learn from lived experience
You will be joining alongside other individuals, with speakers sharing their lived experiences together so no one is carrying their story alone. Collectively, these voices aim to help individuals feel more informed, supported and less isolated.
During the session, you will also be invited to sign the 'Trusted Adult' Knife Crime Awareness Week Pledge, a simple commitment encouraging adults to learn about the risks and warning signs of knife crime, act if they believe a young person may be at risk, and share learning with others so more parents feel confident supporting young people.
