Today, Tuesday 15 July, is World Youth Skills Day.
World Youth Skills Day (WYSD) celebrates and highlights the importance of equipping young people with technical, vocational education, and training and the development of other skills, not just useful for employment and entrepreneurship but for their day to day lives too.
While this year’s theme for WYSD 2025 focuses on youth empowerment through AI and digital skills, our children and young people have developed various skills throughout the past year, both personally and academically. This includes but is not limited to:
- Expressing their mind and showcasing creativity through paint and canvases with Artswork Slough
- Taking part in a BMX cleanup as part of reparation work
- Being awarded a place on the England Women's Pathway team
- Achieving runner-up in the resilience category at the Slough Youth Awards
- Competing and acquiring prizes in various horse-riding competitions and winning
