Children and Young People’s Mental Health (CAMHS)

This article has been brought to you by Slough Borough Council's Associate Director for Children and Families Michael Jarrett on behalf of CAMHS' Project manager for MHST/Getting Help Service Allison Bradshaw. This is for the attention of all professionals working with children and families.

Berkshire Healthcare Children & Adolescents Service (CAMHS) have launched two new services in conjunction with the East Berkshire local authorities:

  • Bracknell Forest Borough Council
  • Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead Council (Achieving for Children)
  • Slough Borough Council

Within Slough Borough Council we run the Mental Health Support Team (MHST). We support children and young people who attend 14 schools in Slough who have emerging, mild or moderate mental health difficulties which may be affecting their day to day life.

Also we have the Getting Help Teams. We work with children and young people in these areas who need short-term support (around six to eight sessions) with low to moderate mental health issues.
