Children’s Mental Health Week

This article has been brought to you by Slough Borough Council on behalf of Slough Children First for the attention of all schools.

Would your Children & YP like to get involved for Children's Mental Health Week?

It’s Children’s Mental Health Week this week (9-15 February), and the theme is ‘This is My Place’, focusing on the importance of belonging for children’s mental health and wellbeing.

Every child/ young person deserves a safe place where they can feel valued, accepted and supported just as they are.

As mentioned recently, the Participation Team would like to invite our children and young people across all services we work with, to get involved and create a mural, similar to the ‘Welcome to Slough, where every child matters’ mural , which was created at one of our celebration events by our young people.

Whichever service the young person is working with, from Early Help all the way through to Adoption, we’d like to invite them to get creative and express what ‘their community’ or ‘their place’ means to them.

This can be a drawing, a poem, a picture, a photo, a statement – whatever the statement means to them.

  • It can be done digitally or by hand on A4 paper
  • It needs to be sent to us by 27 February
  • All submissions need to be sent to the Participation Team, either in person or via  yourvoice@sloughchildrenfirst.co.uk

Once we have the pieces sent back, the mural will be put together and put up in one of the public meeting rooms in Observatory House.
