Community Action Day

This article has been brought to you by Slough Borough Council on behalf of Slough Children First for the attention of all schools.

We’d like to make you aware of a free community action day that will be taking place at the Langley Pavilion Memorial Park on Saturday, 16 November.

The event will be from 12-4pm and will be a chance for residents to find out more about how to get involved in community projects as well as find out about the support available in reducing harm and feeling safer. Some of the organisations that will be there on the day are: Slough Children First, Slough Borough Council, Thames Valley Police, Mothers Together, Faz Amnesty, Communities Against Violence and Safer Slough Partnership.

On the day, there will be:

  • Stalls inside the main hall at the Pavilion with information on: community safety, crime stoppers, police, health, volunteering, and more
  • Speeches from 1pm from community activists on how we can work together to reduce harm for our children and residents in Slough
  • Refreshments (tea, coffee and biscuits) throughout the day
  • Music and entertainment provided by local groups
  • Work on a new community peace garden to be created at the Pavilion
  • A walk of solidarity organised by Mothers Together

Come along and see how you can get involved in community projects.

This follows on from the free community fun day in August, Faz Amnesty held in partnership with Slough Youth Justice Service and Slough Borough Council.
