GBA Social Impact Series: Positive Pathways for Boys and Young Men - book now + Key Strategy & Report

This article is brought to you by Slough Borough Council, on behalf of Get Berkshire Active, for the attention of professionals working across education, coaching, youth work, public health, community safety, community sport, and statutory services, particularly those supporting boys and young men with unmet needs.

Get Berkshire Active’s Social Impact Team are pleased to invite you and your colleagues to our upcoming webinar Positive Pathways for Young Men & Boys, taking place on Thursday 21st May.

Boys’ and young men’s wellbeing and identity are increasingly at the forefront of national conversations, shaped by changing social expectations and growing digital pressures. We know that providing safe spaces, trusted relationships, and positive role models, including through sport and physical activity, can play a significant protective role during adolescence.

This free webinar is the first in a series from our Social Impact Team, exploring movement and physical activity as a protective factor for boys and young men. The session will showcase effective approaches, models, and evidence‑based practice from organisations working across education, youth work, sport, and community services, helping to deepen understanding of the systemic challenges boys and young men can face within society and education.

The session will explore:

  • Sport and physical activity as a protective factor during adolescence
  • Strength‑based and relational approaches to role modelling
  • Systemic barriers affecting boys and young men
  • Positive masculinities in sport and physical activity
  • Practical actions for schools, clubs, and services
  • Strengthening local connections and shared practice across Berkshire

Who is it for?

Professionals working across education, coaching, youth work, public health, community safety, community sport, and statutory services, particularly those supporting boys and young men with unmet needs.
