Getting it Right for Twos | 3-session online programme

This article has been brought to you by Slough Borough Council's Early Years Team, for the attention of all Early Years and Childcare Practitioners.

The programme focuses on evidence-based approaches and reflective practice, supporting practitioners to view provision through the eyes of the two-year-old.

What to expect

Session One: Understanding two-year-olds – brain development, disadvantage, children’s voice, independence, agency, children’s rights, co-regulation, and sense of belonging.

Session Two: Supporting emotional wellbeing – pedagogy of care, sleep, mealtimes, routines, slow pedagogy, working with families, home learning, and inter-agency collaboration.

Session Three: Enhancing play and learning –  the adult’s role, assessment, characteristics of effective learning, and balancing risk and challenge.

This programme is perfect for educators seeking to enhance their practice, reflect on their settings, and connect with a network of peers dedicated to high-quality interactions and the holistic development of two-year-olds.
