Did you know that if it’s for 28 days or more, this could be a private fostering arrangement and your local authority needs to be notified?
Private fostering is often confused with fostering / a children’s social care arrangement by the local council but isn’t.
The arrangement could be for different reasons such as:
- A family breakdown or arguments at home
- Parents live or work overseas
- A child goes to an independent school and isn’t going home during the holidays
- A parent has taken ill or has long-term health issues
- Teenagers living with a friend's family or partner's family
