This article is brought to you by Slough Borough Council's Education Safeguarding Professional, Jatinder Matharu, for the attention of all Secondary schools.
We are mindful that the exam results day is fast approaching! Whilst there will be many students who will be delighted with their results there may also unfortunately be a few who may feel disappointed with the outcome (leading to feelings of worry, and low mood or simply overwhelmed).
As such I wanted to share some helpful resources I’ve pulled together that I hope you can either email over to students and parents or indeed share on results day in person (print out some copies), in addition to the other supports you may have in place.
- Exam results: supporting your child with GCSEs or A Levels (actionforchildren.org.uk)
- Exam results | Childline
- Exam Stress | How To Deal with Exam Stress | YoungMinds
- exam-support-brochure_V2 (1).pdf (healthwatchredcarandcleveland.co.uk)
- How to manage results day: 6 tips for parents in summer 2022 - BBC Bitesize
We highly recommend Kooth - Home - Kooth and also No. 22 https://number22.org/support22/ for their online and telephone support as well as other resources noted above.
