NHS Frimley | Flu/Cold Information

This article has been brought to you by Slough Borough Council on behalf of NHS Frimley's Engagement and Communications Manager, Maternity, Children and Young People, Kirsty North, for the attention of all Schools.

Please see attached a PDF flyer from NHS Frimley for sharing with parents about the difference between cold and flu. We would welcome your support in helping get this message out to help protect our communities from the spread of flu this winter.

In addition to this, we are sharing visuals which you may like to use on your family centre’s social media accounts with the following supporting message, designed to;

  • highlight that children with flu should not be in a childcare/education setting, and
  • signposting parents to information about whether a child is well enough to attend their usual setting.

Share the following message from our social media channels on Facebook and Instagram, which have shared this information this morning, with further messaging planned to support vaccine signposting for children.

Please do not send your child into a childcare or education setting if they have flu.

If you are unsure if they should be attending their usual setting based upon symptoms they have, check Frimley Healthier Together for advice: https://frimley-healthiertogether.nhs.uk/parentscarers/child-unwell-ok-go-nurseryschool
