This article is for the attention of all Early Years providers.
Following a series of meetings with Ofsted in the past few weeks we would like to share with you some key messages.
Foci for forthcoming inspections after September 2018 will be:
- Children from disadvantaged backgrounds
- Children with SEND
- Children who are most able
Inspectors will track these categories of children during an inspection.
There will also be a greater focus of attention on the quality of teaching and learning in order to receive a judgement of good or outstanding. Settings should be demonstrating teaching and learning that is improved since previous inspections.
A new inspection framework will be published in September 2019.
