Stepping Forward - Performing Arts Programme for care experienced 13-17 year olds
For those who may not be aware, The Share Foundation is an organisation that empowers young people to access financial resources and incentivized life skills, which support them into adult life.
One way that they achieve this is through:
- Supporting young people in care, by working with the Department for Education to operate the government’s starter capital accounts for young people in care, the Child Trust Fund and the Junior ISA, throughout the United Kingdom.
In March last year, they launched a virtual but interactive programme called ‘Stepping Forward’, designed for young people in care/ care experienced 13-17 year olds, which gives them an introduction to the performing arts. https://www.sharefound.org/steppingforward. Please see the flyer/poster attached and share this with your families, young people and partners who work with our young people too. Registration is straightforward; young people can just fill out their details on this page: Stepping Forward Registration | The Share Foundation. Please note that young people should sign up with their own email address, and to be eligible they must have been in care for 12 months or more (this is due to when you/ Slough Children First submit young people’s data to The Share Foundation).
