The Department for Education has updated its Prevent duty guidance for designated safeguarding leads (DSLs) in education settings in England. The guidance aims to explain the Prevent referral process, set out the statutory responsibilities, and prepare designated safeguarding leads to respond effectively. In addition to the Prevent duty guidance, there is practical guidance for DSLs on Channel meetings and next step checklists on safeguarding learners susceptible to radicalisation.
