This article is for the attention of professionals working with families, holiday clubs and other childcare providers.
HMRC have published communications to promote the wide range of government childcare support available to parents over the summer, including using Tax-Free Childcare to help pay for regulated childcare, e.g. holiday clubs.
With Tax-Free Childcare, working parents – including the self-employed – can get up to £2,000 per child per year towards their childcare costs.
Parents can also combine Tax-Free Childcare with 30 hours to help pay for additional childcare beyond their 30 hours.
The DfE and HMRC are encouraging parents to maximise the government support available to them this summer, by visiting the Childcare Choices website and using the childcare calculator to find out what support they could get.
