We are excited to announce that Foster With Slough will officially launch its second Mockingbird constellation, as part of the Mockingbird programme on 21 March 2025.
Led by The Fostering Network in the UK, Mockingbird delivers sustainable foster care through an evidence-based model structured around the support and relationships an extended family provides.
The Mockingbird Programme creates an extended family model where experienced foster carers (hub carers) offer vital peer support, guidance, and respite to other fostering families within their "constellation" of 6-10 fostering families. This structure mirrors the natural support networks of birth families, ensuring that no carer or child feels alone in their journey.
The launch event will be held at the home of one of our Mockingbird hub carers, bringing together fostering families to connect and celebrate. This expansion marks another important step in strengthening stability and resilience for children and carers in Slough.
