Slough Early Years MITEY Charter

This article has been brought to you by Slough Borough Council's Early Years and Prevention Childcare Development Co-ordinator, Clare Thompson, for the attention of Early Years.

Slough Early Years Service values men’s capacity to care for and educate children and we have signed up to The Men in Early Years Charter #MITEYUK. This is a pledge for Nurseries, Pre-schools, Childminders, Nannies and other Early Years education settings across the UK.

We acknowledge that early years education should benefit from the talents of all, so we are actively seeking to create a workforce that includes men, women and people with other gendered or non-gendered identities.

The Charter reinforces our Early Years Workforce Strategy for Slough which aims to support the early years sector to remove barriers to; attracting, retaining and developing the workforce in line with the guidance published by the DfE in March 2017.
