Calling all green fingered children!
The Slough Horticultural Show is back for its second year and there is a wide variety of junior classes to enter, including horticulture, floral art, cookery, arts and crafts and photography. The Slough Allotment Federation is calling all Schools, Nurseries, Children’s Centres and Youth Groups to get involved by creating a scarecrow that depicts a child’s film or book character.
The scarecrow can be made using any materials and should be brought along to the show on August 17 for judging at Lascelles Park.
"We have a great variety of classes to choose from in the junior section. All child entries are free and they could also win a prize, and I’m really looking forward to seeing fairy cakes and scones, and decorated gingerbread men and creative miniature garden in a seed tray.”
- Haley Baldwin, Slough Allotment Federation
Entering is easy, just download the schedules below, pick the class(es) you would like to enter and fill out the application form.
There will also be lots to see and do on the day, including:

“I can’t wait to see the entries for this years competition, there is something for everyone to enter at the Slough Horticultural Show. It’s fantastic that our young people are being encouraged to get involved and I'm looking forward to seeing all the scarecrow entries.
