Cosy up with a book during the winter weather and join our Reading Together Challenge.
To take part, children simply read three library books of their choice over the winter holidays, then rate and review them to receive a certificate. The Winter Mini Challenge website will have fun activities, quizzes and competitions, plus a virtual badge to unlock when you’ve completed your three books.
The challenge is aimed at children aged 4+ and The Winter Mini Challenge starts on Monday 2 December 2019 and finishes on Monday 13 January 2020. Younger children can join in the fun with Bear’s Reading Adventure, offering a colourful sticker book and 10 stickers to collect.
Grown-ups don’t miss out as there will be a challenge for them too. Adults and young people are asked to read six library books and record them in a special diary. They will have until 30 April to complete.
The whole family can have fun reading together and encouraging each other. This can be a great reading experience for children and you can become reading role-models. Ask at your local Slough library for details.
