Sport In Mind | Mum & Baby Gentle Pilates For Mental Wellbeing

This article has been brought to you by Slough Borough Council's Senior Childrens Centres Operations Officer, Sue Butterworth for the attention of all Early Years and Childcare Practitioners.

There are free Mum and Baby Gentle Pilates for Mental Wellbeing sessions starting on 20 November 2023 (booking on to the session is required).

Gentle pilates and light movement for mums and babies under the age of one with instructor Natasha. These sessions are for mums experiencing low mood, isolation or loneliness or difficulties with their mental health.

Please see below posters and updated timetables for more information.

Just a reminder that GBA is now working with Sport in Mind to deliver a pregnancy and postnatal programme across Slough, Reading, Maidenhead and Bracknell Forest. These sessions are designed for new and expectant mums experiencing low mood, stress, isolation, loneliness or difficulties with their mental health – feelings that many new parents experience.

We have attached posters advertising the latest Mum & Baby classes across the County and the Reading pregnancy class – these are all FREE of charge, gentle, taught by qualified instructors and no experience is necessary. Pregnant and new mothers wishing to sign up can scan the QR code on the posters or email info@sportinmind.org to book on to the session (spaces are limited).

Please can we ask you to bring these to the attention of pregnant and new mothers and display the posters in your clinics/surgeries/health centres/nurseries wherever possible (please remove any existing MumsZone posters as these sessions have replaced those). If you need printed A5 hard copies sent out to you please let us know.

We also co-ordinate a Physical Activity in Maternity Network, provide training and further resources can be found here: Pregnancy and Postnatal − Get Berkshire Active   and on Sport in Minds mum and baby section where classes are updated : Pregnancy and Post Natal Support | Sport in Mind.
