Thunderbirds at 60 at Slough Museum

We are inviting you on behalf of Slough Museum to the official launch of the new exhibition Thunderbirds at 60 celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Thunderbirds series premiere in 1965.

This internationally renowned animated series are one of the most famous products ever made in Slough. It was in 1964 that Gerry Adams gathered a team of young, exciting artists and technicians at AP Studios on Stirling Road in the midst of Slough Estates, surrounded by the manufacturing giants. There they have created a revolutionary TV series which included pioneering special effects and animation techniques. Their first episode Trapped in the Sky premiered in late September/early October 1965 (depending on the region) and have rose to fame influencing generations of young people in UK and worldwide.

On the weekend 4/5 October 2025 - Slough Museum will launch the finale of the 60th anniversary celebration - focusing on the fascinating topic of Thunderbirds design with lots of the original items from 1960s and 1970s such as puppets, vehicles, sets and props.

We would love to have you as our guest, given your appreciation for Thunderbirds. The flyer is below for further information.
