This article has been brought to you by Slough Borough Council's Principal Libraries Outreach Officer (Children And Young People), Alison Beer, for the attention of All Secondary Schools.
Slough Libraries are offering fun and rewarding opportunities to volunteer this summer. We’re looking for young people age 14+ who are enthusiastic about books and libraries to support our Summer Reading Challenge. This is a valuable role that will encourage and inspire children to participate in the challenge. Tasks include: listening to children talk about the books they’ve read, promoting the challenge to families, handing out rewards or helping with activities.
The libraries team is happy to visit schools to talk to students about these opportunities. To apply, students should complete a simple application form. For further information contact Libraries.CultureVolunteering@slough.gov.uk
