Health and Safety Course: Fire Management for Building Managers

This workshop has been brought to you by Slough Borough Council's Health and Safety Advisor, Victoria Swift, for the attention of all Schools in Slough.

This workshop is designed to inform participants of the requirements of the Regulatory Reform Fire Safety Order and associated fire regulations and guidance. This understanding is required when managing a building.  Please note that this course will not qualify you to undertake a fire risk assessment.

By the end of the course you will:

  • Understand the principles of the causes of fire,
  • Understand the measures required to prevent the cause and spread of fire,
  • Understand the principle of fire protection and means of escape,
  • Be able to prepare and develop emergency and fire evacuation procedures,
  • Be able to manage and control fire log, and
  • To understand the fire risk assessment and actions identified by the assessor.

Pre Course Preparation

Delegates do not have to formally prepare for the course, however it would be useful to understand the practices and local procedures at your school. 

Fees

For all schools that buy into the SBC H&S Service Level Agreement the cost of the course per delegate is £15

For Schools that do not buy into the SBC H&S Service Level Agreement the cost of the course per delegate is £60.
