Are You Ready for the GDPR? (General Data Protection Regulation)

General Data Protection Regulation

The European Union's GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) comes into force in the UK on 25th May 2018. The GDPR will bring in stricter obligations that all employers must follow.

Until 25th May 2018, The Data Protection Act 1998 still applies. The Data Protection Act is concerned with respecting the rights of individuals when processing their personal information. The act is mandatory and all organisations that hold or process personal data must comply.

The ICO (Information Commissioner's Office) has produced a guide to the GDPR, and has developed a number of free tools to help organisations to get ready for the GDPR:

Childminders

All businesses will be impacted – even a small, one-person business such as a childminding business. PACEY are launching tools to support childminders with this.
