Dingley’s Promise Comic Relief EY Inclusion Project Free Online Training

As you may already be aware, Slough are one of 10 local authorities in the first cohort of this exciting new national project; Dingley’s Promise Comic Relief Early Years Inclusion Project.

This project is one of the Comic Relief Change Maker initiatives and has successfully secured funding for five years with the aim to increase the number of young children with SEND accessing Early Years and childcare places. A major element of the project is upskilling the EY workforce with FREE online training courses. This training is available for all EY practitioners in your setting, and any staff working with EY children including breakfast and afterschool club staff, lunchtime staff and, regular volunteers.

Free Online Training Courses

In total there will be 10 courses, over the next 2-3 years. All the courses will be:

  • Free & accessible online anytime
  • Practitioners complete at their own pace
  • 5 hours of time per course
  • A mix of theory & practical activities

 The first two courses will be available online from 28th February 2022:

  • Course 1 - Introduction To Early Years Inclusive Practice
  • Course 2 - Early Years SEND Transition

The attached leaflets provide an overview of the courses, training modules, benefits and how to register.  Please share these with your EY team and encourage as many of them to sign up.

Courses 3 & 4 are expected in the Summer term 2022.

We will keep you updated on how the project is developing Slough and nationally.
