Egress License Renewal 2021/22

This article has been brought to you by Slough Borough Council's Senior School Effectiveness Officer, Jo Curd, for the attention of all school Headteacher and Business Managers.

We are currently finalising our bulk purchase of egress email security licenses for 2021/22.

As one school has said:

Egress Protect is used to securely share confidential information by email and send and receive encrypted large files. We have chosen to use Egress when sending confidential information via email to comply with data protection regulations and to ensure that when this information needs to be shared with third parties, it is done so securely.

Egress have a free desktop app to enable users to send secure emails directly from Microsoft Outlook, while Egress Web Access means users can send and receive secure emails without downloading any software. Sending encrypted large files using Egress also overcomes the usual attachment file size limitations found in most email clients.

Through our bulk purchasing scheme the licenses cost £42.00 each. Although this is a slight increase on last year’s prices it is still considerably less than each school buying directly from egress themselves. Schools who currently purchase through Slough Borough council usually allocate licenses to staff who are sending confidential files such as those pertaining to safeguarding concerns and personal information about students or staff.

We are now inviting you to join our scheme and take advantage of these lower costs.

If you are interested please can you confirm how many licences, including email addresses of recipients, by 5pm on Friday 24th September 2021.

If you have any queries please contact egress@slough.gov.uk.

We look forward to hearing from you.
