This article has been brought to you by Slough Borough Councils School Improvement Consultant, Jameel Hassan, for the attention of Primary School Headteachers and Senior Management.
There is a briefing for those schools who are to be externally moderated, where Slough Schools will be informed by Friday 15th May 2020. The purpose of this briefing is for schools to have some information about the external moderation expectations, to meet the moderators for their school and share the schools current data, so moderators can organise which children's work could potentially be moderated.
This briefing will be by invitation only and a letter and follow up email, by the local authority, will be sent to the selected schools. Selected schools will be asked to bring in at least 1 copy of the pupil data. The data should have some indication of pupils expected grades for teacher assessment, based on the teacher assessment frameworks. Although this is non-statutory, this is part of the local agreement with Schools.
Briefing Date for Selected Schools
- Wednesday 20th May 2020| Morning Session - KS1 | Year 2 - reading, writing and mathematics
- Wednesday 20th May 2020 | Afternoon Session - KS2 | Year 6 current data - writing only for working towards, expected and working at greater depth.
Schools will be contacted directly on 15th May 2020 to inform you that your school has been selected for external moderation. If you have NOT heard from the local authority by 15th May 2020, this means your school has NOT been selected for external moderation.
