Dear EY Leads, Assessment leads and EY managers with children completing the EYFS Profile,
New content published on the Foundation Years EYFS Profile page
The Department for Education’s EYFS Profile communications page on Foundation Years provides teachers with support to complete the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Profile. This will be updated regularly throughout the 2023/24 academic year. Each update will cover a new area of the EYFS Profile, focusing on topics the sector has asked for more information on.
The most recent update was published on the 17th April. It provides information on completing the EYFS Profile for children who remain in EYFS provision beyond age 5.
Previous updates include completing the EYFS Profile for children with special educational needs and disabilities, exemptions from the EYFS learning and development requirements, completing the EYFS Profile for children who transfer schools, and a vodcast that:
- provides an overview of the EYFS Profile;
- addresses potential myths;
- answers commonly asked questions; and
- signposts where you can find further support on completing the EYFS Profile.
Kind regards,
Sharon Rose, Early Years Advisory Teacher
