Become Healthy Smiles Accredited
Did you know that oral health is a key component of the EYFS framework? And there’s a very good reason for this! Oral health is crucial to a child’s overall health and wellbeing. A healthy mouth not only helps with eating, smiling, and communication, but it also plays a vital role in maintaining a healthy body. Poor oral health is linked to a range of other health issues, including heart disease, lung conditions, and diabetes. It can also result in pain, infections, and increased school absences.
Community Dental Services CIC is excited to offer you the opportunity to join our Healthy Smiles accreditation program. After completing our online training, your setting will be fully supported to implement simple changes and practices that will benefit both children and their families.
If you are an EYFS setting (nursery, childminder, pre-school, or primary school) and want to get involved, sign up today!
By implementing the accreditation standards, each participating setting helps to;
- increase the dentist attendance of children in their care
- promote positive oral health messages to the children, staff and parents
- reduce the frequency of sugary food and drinks given to the children
