This article has been brought to you by Slough Borough Council's Public Health Programme Officer, Tim Howells, for the attention of all primary schools.
Did you know that there were nearly 1,000 cases of Measles in the UK last year and over 35,000 in Europe as a whole, with 37 deaths.
At school, children will be mixing with large numbers of other children in a confined environment, which increases the risk of spreading illness and disease.
As such, we are asking schools to provide the attached 2 documents to new starters in preparation for the September 2019 term:
- A useful poster that parents can refer to
- A letter detailing the importance of getting vaccinated at this time of the child’s life
Please use these where you can and to the widest number of parents/carers possible
