This article has been brought to you by Slough Borough Council's Children, Young People and Outreach Manager, Alison Beer, for the attention of Headteachers.
Children across Slough have been taking part in this year’s Summer Reading Challenge Space Chase – a mission to read six library books over the summer holidays. As at the end of August, 3450 children have joined the challenge and 693 have completed, with more finishing every day. Thanks to schools for supporting the challenge. There’s still time for children to complete and receive their medal and certificate so please encourage your learners to continue on their reading journey and keep visiting the library.
Children who complete the Summer Reading Challenge are invited to a medal ceremony to share their proud achievement with their family.
There are lots of ceremonies taking place throughout September and early October in Britwell, Cippenham, Langley and The Curve. Please contact Alison Beer, Children, Young People and Outreach Manager alison.beer@slough.gov.uk for details.
