Safeguarding in Education

The Children Acts 1989 and 2004 provide a framework for our service standards. Section 10 of the Children’s Act 2004 places a duty on schools to co-operate with the local authority to provide information to safeguard a child.

International Day of the Girl Celebration

On Sat 6th Oct 2018, ‘International Day of the Girl Celebration’ will be held at Upton Court Grammar School, for female students in Year 9 – 13 to attend a day of workshops, information and networking in recognition of the global annual event. Building on the success of the last few years, we are pleased to be able to open this year’s event up to 150 students.

Early Years | Continuous Professional Development

Slough Early Years Service provides a comprehensive schedule of training opportunities designed to support providers to manage their CPD and statutory duties regarding safeguarding and child protection, paediatric first aid and food hygiene.

Early Years & Childcare - Funded Early Education

There are a range of free entitlements that enable families to have funded early education places for 2, 3 and 4 year olds. Slough Early Years Service co ordinates information about these entitlements and manages the payments to Early Years Providers for the provision of free places.

Safeguarding Projects

We are working on a range of projects to raise the profile of safeguarding with children and young people through creative ways including drama, arts and digital platforms in PSHE.
