Designated Teachers Conference

This training day has been brought to you by Slough Borough Council's Virtual School Headteacher for the attention of all designated teachers.

Welcome back to the new school term, we’re really looking forward to working with you again this year.

You will recall that we sent a ‘save the date’ for this year’s Designated Teachers conference and I am pleased to say that I now have the draft agenda giving more information.

We heard you when you said that you may struggle to come for whole day CPD, so to support you and equally ensure we are giving you an appropriate offer, we have split the day into training opportunities around supporting our young people with everyday learning and development, and the school’s statutory obligations around PEPs. You are welcome to opt for either the whole day or just the afternoon or morning. The PEP session, however, is absolutely vital as part of the joint statutory obligations in relation to children in our care. With that in mind, for those unable to attend the afternoon session, we have also organised a further 3 virtual sessions on readiness for the statutory obligation. Please do not worry, we will make it work for you.

As always, we will provide lunch and refreshments and there will be takeaway bags with resources and reading that support the day and I hope, show our appreciation for your time and input in supporting our young people.

Please make sure you sign up with Farrah.mughal@sloughchildrenfirst.co.uk before Wednesday, 18th September and don’t forget to let us know of any dietary or access requirements.

We can’t wait to welcome you,

Cherie Sears, Virtual School Headteacher
