Free CPD Opportunity - "Fostering positive relationships with young people in crisis" - Dr Ian Johnson, Haybrook College/Hybrid - Monday, 31st March, 15:30-17:00
Slough Virtual School are excited to sponsor a training opportunity delivered by Dr Ian Johnson of Haybrook College.
Designed with Designated Teachers, Designated Safeguarding Leads and SLT in mind, the session will focus on supporting children in secondary and post 16 education.
This 90 minute interactive CPD will focus on fostering positive relationships with our young people when it comes to managing tricky behaviour and supporting them in crisis, especially in fight/flight/freeze mode. There will be some theory based around the ‘5 to Thrive’ model alongside discussion-based activities.
The session will also be an opportunity to enjoy some refreshments whilst networking, as we want to encourage links between schools so that you continue to work collaboratively and support each other outside of our events.
Date: Monday 31st March from 3.30pm – 5pm
Venue: In person at Haybrook College (or virtual on Teams if you can’t make it in person)
Please respond by contacting Farrah.mughal@sloughchildrenfirst.co.uk by Monday, 24th March to secure your space.
If you’d like any further details, please contact Danielle.thornton@sloughchildrenfirst.co.uk, our Lead for Secondary Education, who will be facilitating the event.
Thanks once again for everything you do to support our young people. What you do changes lives.
