Storytelling and using stories and books to support children's learning and vocabulary development

This training is brought to you by Slough Borough Council's Early Years Team for the attention of all practitioners working in the Early Years

Storytelling and using stories and books to support children's learning & vocabulary development

As part of storytelling week we are running our story telling training again

Time for a story; stories are key in children's learning in the early years.

They support the development of listening and communication skills, improve concentration and memory, enable children to immerse themselves in different situations both real and imaginary, create a sense of wonder and help sequence events.

They can also provide information, widen vocabulary and make important links between the spoken and written word, as well as stimulating an interest and enjoyment of books and reading.

This training looks at top tips for storytelling and using books and stories to provoke and support children's learning, including areas for sharing books and reading, books in the environment and as part of continuous provision.

Online and free, please book here: Storytelling and using stories and books to support children's learning and vocabulary development 29.01.25 **Please note that if you book a place and then do not attend there is a non-attendance charge of £50. Any cancellation must be 7 days prior to the training
