Happy 1st webaversary to TheLink!
It has been a year since TheLink website was launched and managed by the Business Support Team in the CLS Directorate, and it has been a remarkable journey for us. We have been contacted by various Schools and Early Years’ professionals across the borough, receiving requests for updates on the website and have created strong communication links with the education sector in Slough. TheLink has achieved more than we imagined and we look forward to another year filled with new adventures and opportunities.
“Congratulations to TheLink team on its 1st year anniversary, it has been a strong and much needed connection between education and the council. I have found it to be a great hub and source for information for schools and educators, where there is a range of potential collaborative activities that schools can engage in.”
- Councillor Shabnum Sadiq, Lead Member for Education & Children’s Services
Statistics
Please download the attached document to view the website traffic between July 2018 and July 2019. (This information is accessible only to registered users. Please log in or register to view the attachment).
Challenges
The most common issue raised by users is not being aware of the website’s features and not knowing what the website can offer. After receiving a number of these issues we decided to collate this information and create TheLink’s Help Centre, which was launched in February 2019. The Help Centre allows users to easily access content and explains all of the features on the website such as:
- Saving pages to your profile to create a favorites’ section (shortcuts);
- How to register to the website;
- How to pay for events without card payments;
- How to search for particular information on news or events;
- How to use tags on each page; and much more.
It also includes handy tips and useful visual guides to help facilitate the ultimate website experience.
Have your say
We have recently sent out a survey requesting feedback from users. The information we receive will enable us to continue to provide an improved service to all professionals in the education sector.
If you have not yet completed this please visit: https://thelink.slough.gov.uk/news/have-your-say-about-thelink and have your say. The final date to complete this is by close of play Friday 13th September 2019.
“I look forward to the website expanding both in number of users as well as more participation from schools themselves where they could share good practice on a range of common areas.”
- Councillor Shabnum Sadiq, Lead Member for Education & Children’s Services
