We are excited to introduce Viva Slough’s Communication Skills Course—a comprehensive, free, 4-month program designed to help individuals master communication skills, specifically for careers in the hospitality and care sectors. 

Communication Skills Mastering Human Interaction - Free Course 

Viva Slough’s Communication Skills course is a comprehensive 4-month, completely free programme to train people in jobs that require extensive interaction with people. The focus the programme is equip people for careers in two sectors:

Hospitality: This sector covers Food and Beverage services, Hotel and Accommodation, Travel and Tourism(Including airports), Events and Entertainment and Front office staff in business centres and office spaces.  

Care: This sector covers roles related to Health and Social Care and includes social workers, nursing and hospital assistants, Care providers at home or Care homes, Social Prescribers, Administration and managerial staff in GP surgeries and other medical settings.

Whether you are jobseeker looking for an entry level position or already working and seeking to advance your career to a supervisory level. This course is designed for you. 

Why Enrol in This Course?

Build Confidence: Develop essential communication skills to succeed in people facing roles in the hospitality or care sector.

Hands-On Learning: Experience real-life customer interactions through role-plays, simulations, and project work.

Work Experience & Volunteering: Opportunity to experience working in a live environment such as an office, hotel, café or care environment as a stepping stone to finding a job

Networking Opportunities: Connect with experienced professionals in the care or hospitality industry and with peers facing the same challenges. 

Placement Service: Gain access to a job placement service and get help with finding job opportunities and introduction to potential employers 

Performance report:  Receive a full performance report and reference letter at the end of the course to boost your CV and provide evidence of your knowledge and skills to prospective employers. 

Flexible Schedule: Attend sessions during lunch hours and attend only 5 sessions to become eligible for work experience, placement service, and performance report.

Start Date: 18th Nov 2024

End Date: 14th Mar 2025

Hospitality Sector: Every Wednesday from 12:30pm-1:30pm from 18th of Nov 2024 until 11th of March 2025 excluding school holidays

Care Sector: Every Tuesday from 12:30 – 1:30 pm from 15th Nov 2024 to 14th of Mar 2025 excluding school holiday

Note: Participants can choose to attend any of the sessions, however, will be required to have attended at least 5 workshops before being offered work experience, volunteering or enrolled in the placement service.
