This article has been brought to you by Slough Borough Council's Principal Libraries Outreach Officer for Children and Young People, Alison Beer, for the attention of all school and Early Years settings.
There is a 12-week consultation about proposed changes to the library service in Slough running until 20th January 2022.
Slough Borough Council is re-shaping library services to make sure they are fit for the future
The future library service must:
- Ensure that library services are affordable and deliver value for money
- Ensure library services are accessible and meet local needs
- Support and promote good use of technology including digitalisation of services where appropriate
Slough Borough Council is consulting with residents, partners, library users and non-users to understand how they use our library services, and to seek your views on why you use our libraries, (or why you don’t) when do you use them and what would you like to see delivered by a future library service?
You can share your views by completing the online survey here.
Please complete this survey by Thursday 20th January 2022.
The feedback and responses we receive from the online survey and consultation will be essential in helping to make any final decisions.
Please share the survey as widely as possible with colleagues, families and partners.
The library service is keen to ensure that the views of children and young people are included in the consultation. We would like to meet with pupils to get their feedback. If your school is able to facilitate a focus group, either in person or online, please get in touch via the email below.
Full details of the consultation and drop in dates can be found here or by emailing libraryconsultation@slough.gov.uk.
If you have any queries please contact libraryconsultation@slough.gov.uk.
