This article has been brought to you by Slough Borough Council's Senior School Effectiveness Officer, Jo Curd, for the attention of Headteachers and all Teachers in KS2 & K3.
You are invited to join a group of Primary and Secondary Schools in developing ‘Disciplinary Literacy’ (Education Endowment Fund) from Y5 to Y8. This is an approach to promoting reading, writing and speaking in subject specific ways in order to raise achievement of all learners.
The ‘Continuity Curriculum Project’ will work across KS2 and 3, bringing teachers from both phases together. Durrington Research School will provide three training days for all participating schools and a wider audience. The project, financed from Slough School Improvement Funds, will also provide the opportunity for two Disciplinary Literacy Project Leads, one from the Primary and one from Secondary phase, to lead this one day a week from January 2020.
