Free Resources to Celebrate World Book Night

This article has been brought to you by Slough Borough Council's Principal Libraries Outreach Officer, Alison Beer, for the attention of all school and Early Years settings.

Slough Libraries successfully applied to The Reading Agency for free books to give away as part of the World Book Night celebrations in April.

We will have copies of Quick Reads available for schools to offer parents/carers and are keen to support schools with outreach activities to encourage and inspire parents and carers to become reading role models for their children and use the library for their own reading for pleasure. Quick Reads are short, engaging books, suitable for less confident adult readers. They provide a route into reading that prioritises great story telling and adult-focused content while ensuring the books are written in an accessible and easy to read style.
